Answer: Greetings Carol. I'm Susan. I've been asked to answer your question today. Having blackheads only on your nose isn't as uncommon as it sounds. Many people struggle with your very same problem. As for what causes them, there are many different causes. But since you only really have them on your nose, I'd say you need to pay more attention to that area when you cleanse and exfoliate the skin on your face. There are many ways to remove blackheads on the nose including squeezing and using specialized blackhead creams.

The first thing you should do is find out what exactly caused these blackheads in the first place. Your diet can play a significant role in the formation of blackheads. If you eat a lot of unhealthy foods it can lead to increased oils on your skin which eventually form blackheads. Make sure to drink plenty of water every day as hydrating your skin will help prevent the formation of blackheads. If you're using makeup to cover up these blackheads, stop immediately. Makeup can make blackheads worse over time. Makeup can clog pores and lead to more blackheads. You should use as little beauty products as possible until you have this problem under control.

It's also possible that your blackheads are caused by hormones. In this case your only real option is to turn to creams. Good creams for blackheads will include BHA or Beta Hydroxy Acid. It is sometimes also called salicylic acid. This is used to exfoliate your skin. It's also used to clear clogged pores by removing excess oil from your skin. These excess oils are what lead to blackheads. Based on your question, I don't think your blackheads are hormonal but regardless of what they're caused by, a good blackhead cream can't hurt anything.

You should consider simply squeezing the blackheads for now. Just make sure to do it after a hot shower as it will make them come out easier. You may also want to consider using a clay mask once a week. This will help to dry out your skin and prevent the buildup of excess oils that can lead to blackheads. There are many different causes of blackheads. I didn't go over all of them by far but these are the most common causes.
